Welcome to Worship Services at St Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, Picton

Sundays   @ 10:00 am
Communion Service with Contemporary Language
(BCP on the last Sunday of most months)

At St Mary Magdalene we appreciate the rich tradition of liturgy of 2000 years of Christianity, and preaching and teaching from the Bible which is open, inclusive and generous. St Mary Magdalene is a place to share and explore difficult questions rather than easy answers. In worship we enjoy beautiful music, and the rich symbolism of traditional liturgy. We seek to give a warm welcome to all people, irrespective of race, age, gender, physical ability, way of life or sexual orientation. We are an inclusive church.

Our worship mostly follows traditional Anglican liturgical forms, using both official Prayer Books (the traditional Book of Common Prayer and the more contemporary language Book of Alternative Services).

Other Services

Baptisms, Weddings, and Funerals

Celebrating marriage and baptism together and supporting one another at the death of a loved one are central aspects of the community life of St Mary Magdalene.
Weddings
Baptism
Funerals
Weddings
Our church is a very beautiful space for a traditional wedding ceremony. We use approved Anglican wedding ceremonies, and marriage in the church first and foremost means wanting God to be part of your wedding and your life together. To be married at St Mary Magdalene at least one of you must be baptized. In keeping with the Pastoral Guidelines and authorization issued by the Bishop of Ontario, St Mary Magdalene offers the sacrament of marriage and the blessing of civil marriage to same-sex couples. Our clergy will be pleased to speak with you about your plans. There are fees for the church, the minister, and the musical director.
Baptism

Baptism is celebrated as part of our regular Sunday morning service. We are very flexible and don't have specific Sundays set aside for baptism, but be sure to get in touch to talk about possible dates and other details. There are no fees or costs associated with Baptism.

Funerals
The death of a loved one is always hard, but the burden can be shared as we gather as a community to support one another, say our final goodbye, and then entrust the departed to Gods gracious keeping.
Please contact the clergy at any time about funeral and memorial service arrangements. We will do our very best to accommodate your needs and help you through this difficult passage.
