About Study and Prayer

During the COVID-19 pandemic our Bible Study meets Wednesdays using Zoom. Subscribe to our mailing list to receive the meeting notifications. Our prayer and meditation group support each other using Facebook -- you can find the group on our Facebook page.

Most Wednesday mornings (except in the summer), a group gathers for study. We gather at the back of the church following the mid-week chapel service, and begin at 10:45. The format varies, and usually includes a video series during the season of Lent. During the rest of the year we look at the scripture readings that will be read in church the following Sunday; this provides a great opportunity to ask questions about the scriptures that may not be addressed in the Sunday sermon. All of our study gatherings aim to discuss difficult questions rather than easy answers. We reckon there are no silly questions, and all views are respected as we explore Christian faith together.

Every Tuesday afternoon we offer Silent Prayer and Meditation. Those who gather arrive so that they are ready to begin in the chapel at 3:30 with opening prayers together, and then 20 minutes of silence. We offered a workshop on silent prayer in 2019, and will offer it from time to time to introduce people to this very beneficial spiritual practice.
